A rare and visually striking Tall Pinched Bosigo Studio Art Pottery Vase, crafted in the c.1970s during the era of Peter Hayes' involvement in the Kingdom of Lesotho, South Africa. This handmade studio pottery piece is a testament to the artistic fusion of traditional African ceramic techniques and modernist sculptural aesthetics.

The vase showcases a tall, cylindrical form with an organically pinched and asymmetrical rim, creating a dynamic and expressive silhouette. The surface is divided into two distinct textures: the upper portion features a smooth, unglazed stoneware finish in muted gray, while the lower section is adorned with a rich brown, patterned surface reminiscent of reptilian scales or woven textures. A carefully sculpted ridge with indentations runs vertically along one side, adding depth and dimension to the piece.

Its earthy tones, textural contrasts, and handcrafted details make it well-suited for mid-century modern, wabi-sabi, rustic, or contemporary interiors. Whether displayed as a standalone decorative object or used for dry floral arrangements, this vintage pottery vase embodies a timeless and organic beauty. Circa 1970s.
